<isc:description><![CDATA[Beautiful and luxurious hair begins with a healthy scalp. And while the misconception that only conditioner can improve hair health is still too prevalent, more and more people are finally getting used to the idea that shampoo is more than just for removing dirt from your hair. While it's true that conditioner can improve the look of hair, shampooing with an invigorating formula designed to stimulate the scalp and free it of clogging agents will work wonders in promoting a healthy head of hair. Some shampoos have harsh chemicals and sulfates that can leave the scalp dry and flaky. And this isn’t just a concern because of dandruff -- it is also a main cause of limp, lifeless hair.To achieve optimized bounce, shine, luster, and volume, choose a shampoo that is formulated to stimulate and invigorate the scalp. Using the pads of the fingertips to stimulate the hair follicles will promote growth resulting in greater length and strength of the hair.Don't just rely on conditioner to improve the condition and health of your hair. Remember that using the right shampoo is just as important. If you do, the hair of your dreams will just be a few suds away!]]></isc:description>

<isc:description><![CDATA[Not all shampoos are created equal. All shampoos work differently on different types of hair. If you've got color-treated hair, using a shampoo developed for the treatment of oily hair could be a big mistake -- and it might strip the color from your hair and leave it with an orange cast. Having your hair colored is an expensive process that can easily be ruined by the use of the wrong type of shampoo. If you have oily hair and use a shampoo formulated for dry hair could, you could end up with hair that looks dirty and greasy even though it's just been washed. Similarly, shampoos that work wonders on curly hair won't have the same effect if used on straight hair.Reading and understanding labels is very important when making a decision about the type of shampoo you purchase. It’s important that you know your hair type. As a general rule, the more processed your hair, the gentler your shampoo should be. Dry hair also requires shampoo made with gentle ingredients. Permed and color treated hair requires special attention and care -- and types of shampoo specifically made for hair that has undergone these treatments should always be used.If you're unsure about what type of shampoo to use, talk to your stylist. Hair care professionals can be a great resource for hair care information.]]></isc:description>

<isc:description><![CDATA[There is a right way and a wrong way to curl hair. If you curl your hair the wrong way, the curls won't stay and all your efforts will be in vain. The proper way to curl hair involves a curling iron as well as some hair products. Start with hair that is that is clean and dry. Your hair may burn if you use a curling iron on it while wet.Comb through your hair to remove any tangles and to smooth it out. Apply curling products such as a protecting spray or a volumizing spray to your hair to shield it from the heat or to help it retain the curl better. If you have coarse hair, you may want to apply a smoothing cream to it before using the curling iron.Split your hair into sections and work with one section at a time. Each section should be about one inch wide. Place the end of one section of hair into the curling iron and lower the clamp on the iron so that it stays in place. Twist the iron to wrap the hair around the barrel, working your way up to the roots of your hair. Hold the iron in place for about 10 seconds, the let go. Repeat with the remaining sections of hair. Keep in mind that the longer you hold the curling iron around each section, the tighter the curls will be. For loose, wavy curls, only keep the hair around the curling iron for a few seconds.]]></isc:description>

<isc:description><![CDATA[The best way to treat split ends is to cut them and start fresh. However, for women who are growing their hair out or who live in dry climates, this is not always possible. The best split end treatment begins with stopping harmful hair routines. The more you brush your hair, the more you'll break the strands, which means the more split ends you'll get. Never brush your hair while it's wet, and limit blow-drying as much as possible. Blow-drying, especially with heat, dries and damages your hair. Straightening is even worse. If you must blow-dry or straighten, apply a serum to seal in moisture and protect your locks. Use split end-specific shampoo and conditioner. Nexxus makes a great conditioner for damaged hair, but the shampoo tends to leave residue. When you wash your hair, shampoo only from your scalp until about halfway down your hair. The shampoo will wash the remaining hair when you rinse, without excessively drying it. Once a week, do a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment. These are leave-in products that you can find at your local drug store. Do a leave-in treatment when you have time to let the product sit for 10 minutes or so. Apply a hair oil like argan oil to your ends when your hair is damp. This will protect the strands from damage throughout the day. ]]></isc:description>

<isc:description><![CDATA[Women with curly hair often wish it was straight. Women with thick hair often wish they could make their hair look thinner and straighter. The good news in both cases is that there are plenty of products on the market that can help accomplish both goals of hair straightening. You don't need to invest a ton of money on hair straightener products or trips to the beauty salon, either. If you have curly, or thick hair, and wish to straighten it, the following are 5 tips you can follow.1. Apply Straightening Cremes Or DressingsThere are plenty of products on the market that offer hair straightening cremes or dressings that help settle thick or curly hair into a more manageable state. You can find these at any local beauty, or big box retailer, store in a wide range of prices. Salon brands will cost more than generics, but both should offer results. You will need to play with different formulas in order to determine which work best for you. These cremes and dressings are generally applied to damp hair, after a shower. Make sure you towel dry your hair really well before application.2. Don't Allow Your Hair To Air Dry!If you have naturally curly hair, or naturally thick hair, it will naturally dry out to look that way! Therefore, it's important that you blow dry it properly, immediately after you're done shampooing, conditioning, and applying your hair straightener creme or dressing. Separate your hair into three sections using hair clips. Then, blow dry each section in 1 portions of hair by using a thick roller brush and the blow dryer on low. Follow the brush with the head of the blowdryer, and pull the brush tight against the hair as you move it down each section. The tighter your hold on the brush and hair, the straighter the end result will be.3. Use A Flat IronThere are many different brands on the market of flat irons to choose from. You can find them online, in beauty stores, or at big box retailers. They come in different sizes, too. For thick or curly hair, choose a thick flat iron which will help get your hair as straight as possible. You can use the flat iron on its own or combine it with the above mentioned tips to get the best results.4. Styling ProductsProducts such as gels and mousses can be used in lieu of flat irons, cremes or dressings. If you have time constraints, or simply don't want to go through all the steps listed above, consider one of these options. You will find specific styling products that are specially made for thick or curly hair. Look for something that advertises hair straightening for best results.5. Straightening Systems & RelaxersIf your budget allows for it, consider a professional Brazilian or Japanese straightening system, or permanent relaxer. These are applied at hair salons and are costly, but results are known for being successful. ]]></isc:description>

<isc:description><![CDATA[In a never-ending search to find the best performance for the best value in products such as cars, clothing and electronics, it seems unfathomable that everyday items as shampoo and conditioner are among the list of things to consider. In fact, many people fall into one of two camps concerning their view on the matter. While some believe higher price point equates to better ingredients and results, others are more concerned with holding on to hard-earned money and purchase less expensive products.Individuals that side with the latter choice are satisfied that their hair is clean and conditioned without going overboard on expensive name brand merchandise. So what is the better choice for the health of your hair and scalp? Is there a significant difference between a mass-market shampoo and conditioner versus a premium shampoo and conditioner heavily advertised with exotic ingredients?Round One: Cheap Shampoo Vs. Expensive ShampooThe ultimate goal with any shampoo is to cleanse the hair and scalp of dead skin cells, environmental residue and oily film deposit without leaving behind product build-up. Creating and maintaining a healthy balance to the hair is an important function of a quality shampoo regardless of brand name or price point. In reality, while people believe that higher cost items provide better results, in blind testing most cannot tell the difference between an inexpensive shampoo and a premium brand when it comes to performance.Key determinants in the quality of shampoo are the ingredients. The choice of shampoo depends on what hair issues need addressing. As with most things, one-size does not fit all and one shampoo does not manage all hair types. For example, you do not want to use dandruff shampoo if there is not an issue with dandruff. Likewise, you do not want to use shampoo for dry hair if your hair is oily. Inevitably, however, it still comes down to ingredients before price. Many companies add foaming agents to shampoo to provide a richer lather that often is over-kill, and add other ingredients that can do more harm than good. Many shampoos, even top brands, include ingredients such as fragrances to enhance the experience when it adds no benefit at all. Ideally, a shampoo with few listed components is better than one with a column of ingredients.Round Two: Cheap Conditioner Vs. Expensive ConditionerConditioners are designed to function exactly as the name implies, condition the hair. For individuals with tangled, limp and lifeless hair, conditioners coat the hair cuticle to provide a smooth silky texture for manageability. Overuse of conditioners, however, is not recommended once the issue is resolved because it limits the hairs natural ability to create oils to keep it healthy. When it comes to selecting a cheap conditioner or a premium conditioner, the same rules apply to those when selecting a shampoo. The consumer must shop by ingredients as opposed to brand name or high priced items. The DecisionUltimately, the decision of whether to choose a cheap shampoo and conditioner versus a premium shampoo and conditioner comes down to consumer preference. While price point does not indicate a superior product and selection should be based on ingredients, consumers purchase the product with which they most relate and trust. An added note: Hair health, regardless of hair care treatments, is affected more by choices in diet and nutrition. No matter how much of or how often you use shampoos and conditioners to resolve hair issues, the lack of healthy and nutritional foods will make it near impossible to achieve.]]></isc:description>
